Barry Neufeld Interview! Fined $750,000 Fine by Human Rights Tribunal for Questioning Gender Identity!
Many of you have closely followed the story of Barry Neufeld, the courageous former school trustee from BC, who had a Human Rights complaint made against him 8 years ago for comments critical of gender ideology being taught in the school system.
Even though it has taken over 8 years to litigate, the BC Human Rights Tribunal recently made a decision on this complaint, and if you can believe it, Barry has been fined a whopping $750,000 for hate speech and discrimination!! This outrageous decision garnered largely critical media coverage across Canada and internationally.

This is by far the highest fine I am aware of in the history of Human Rights Tribunal decisions in Canada.
Barry has told me he is currently appealing this decision – as he should! This is an extremely high penalty, and it will certainly have a chilling effect on free speech. In fact a Chilliwack school trustee resigned just a few days after Barry’s decision, saying that he “no longer feels safe in expressing” himself!

“I believe I’m on the Lord’s side. I’m on the side of truth. I have been so humbled by the generosity of people who have reached out to help me. And, I don’t want to lose their trust in me. It’s a broad spectrum of people from all walks of life, and even all religions. I’ve got all religions, Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Catholics, and Protestants and everything else in-between and a lot of people who have no faith at all. But it’s just such a plain common sense issue. The reason I’m so passionate about it is because I spent a career of working with at risk and special needs kids. I saw kids who gorged and purged themselves, who, slashed themselves, who drugged themselves, and they had real identity issues but none of them had ever come up with the idea that they might be born in the wrong body. But then I retired from that job in 2008.
Prior to 2008, most of my clients were foster children and the ministry had a policy that foster parents were not allowed to let foster kids get anywhere near the computer, they were not to be on the internet. So there wasn’t much social cotangent going on. But that was the year the Iphone came out. Within – by 2009 nearly every kid had access to an Iphone, and they were surfing all these very toxic and dangerous websites… porn-sites… Tumbler, Reddit… – you name it, and coming up with these crazy ideas that they could change their gender or become a cat or a dog. That’s when things really took off.

... The backlash to SOGI 1 2 3 was immediate. One of its loudest critics was the Respondent, Barry Neufeld. At the time, Mr. Neufeld was an elected trustee of the Chilliwack Board of Education [the Board]. For the next five years of his tenure as a trustee, Mr. Neufeld engaged in a high-profile public campaign against SOGI 1 2 3..."
