BILL C-16 and COMPELLED SPEECH: One Year Later

I would like to share a panel discussion titled “Bill C-16: A Year Later.” It was moderated by Sarina Singh, former Social Worker, now free speech activist and President of the Rights and Freedoms Institute. The panel was organized with the support of Dr. Jordan Peterson and Pastor Paul Dirks of New Westminster. The panelists include Dr. Debra Soh, neuroscience journalist at the Globe and Mail (and playboy.com), Barbara Kay of the National Post, Lindsay Shepherd of Wilfred Laurier University, and Jared Brown, Toronto litigation lawyer.

Jared Brown begins and mentions the significance of Barry Neufeld’s situation before the BC Human Rights Tribunal in connection with the with the challenges surrounding free speech in our country. He described politicking behind the scenes of his appearance at the Senate Bill C-16 hearings. It became clear that the intention of the proponents of Bill C-16 was to control speech all along.

Dr. Debra Soh explains why gender ideology — which denies the influence of biology — is harmful and she absolutely destroys the ideology behind SOGI 1-2-3.

Barbara Kay speaks about the effect of Transgenderism on the media and answers the question “Has the left gone too far?”

Lindsay Shepherd explains the chilling effects of trans activism on university campuses.

BC Human Rights Tribunal Decision Issued Feb. 18 2026 / File: CS-001372

Quoted from the decision: "... In 2017, the Ministry approved resources and tools aimed at fostering a SOGI-inclusive education environment in all schools. These resources are referred to as “SOGI 1 2 3”.

... The backlash to SOGI 1 2 3 was immediate. One of its loudest critics was the Respondent, Barry Neufeld. At the time, Mr. Neufeld was an elected trustee of the Chilliwack Board of Education [the Board]. For the next five years of his tenure as a trustee, Mr. Neufeld engaged in a high-profile public campaign against SOGI 1 2 3..."

Decision: Mr. Neufeld to pay $750,000.00
